The Sphere of Good
Cattar
The four orders of Cattar respect
and constantly assist each other. The Holy Superior Order is the branch of
greatest authority, and the High Messenger normally resides at the High Temple
of this order. In Lione, the Cattarian Brothers command respect with one of the
cities most magnificent temples. In Serval, the Southern Column enjoys
popularity in the lands of Torla. And there is the Brotherhood of Light,
respected for following the many edicts of Malok Zrei, and usually adopting a
simple life in the Blue Sun Mountains.
As Cattar is the Deity that
symbolizes the virtues of the Empire of Catalania, clerics of any of the orders,
but particularly those from the Holy Superior Order, have much influence within
the Empire.

The
Holy Superior Order of Cattarianism.
- Urtesir Linar. Feline High
Messenger
Urtesir was one of Malok Zrei's personal
friends who always chose a simple and quiet lifestyle. He is
about 1.50m tall, is slender, and appears to be around 120 years
old. His eyes are light green, his fur light brown, almost bage,
and he moves slowly, always seeming to be in thought. Urtesir is
the High Messenger, and supervises every aspect of the Temples of
Cattar, in every Sect. He is powerful in his faith in Cattar, and
respected on nearly every major city on the continent. His home
is the High Temple of Cattar in Catalania City.
Urtesir speaks slowly so that every word he
says may be fully understood. He shares his wisdom with any being
who has time to listen to him, including children. He is by no
means, however, over-tolerant. He will defend the Temple and
those he cares for whenever necessary and spare no power in doing
so. He helps his allies by aiding and counciling them from time
to time, and often uses his influence within the Empire to their
benefit.
The High Messenger comes from a small town
called Ville Beldrane, to the far north of the Blue Sun
Mountains. There he learned the teachings of Cattar with his
father, who was a humble protector of the church. He had three
sisters and three brothers, but from his family only one sister
and one brother remain.
He remained on the Catalanian countryside
for most of his youth, learning the ways of Cattar and earning a
place as cleric. Finally, he traveled to Catalania City and
became a cleric at Crat Darha's temple. After ten years beside
the Messenger, he witnessed Crats ascension, and Malok Zrei took
his place. It was at this time that he decided to take the
traditional monastic training for the cleric, and left for
Yonmayer to the north. He completed his training eleven years
later, and was given the position of High Priest of Port Ocelot
and then Felineo. He was also High Priest of Lione for a short
time before returning to the Capital of the Empire.
In the Empire, he slowed his activities and
joined a group of senior, traditional clerics who lived at the
temple. The group he chose as peers were very different from
himself, as they were considered Malok's opposition in daily
religious matters. But with them he found rest from the busy life
he had led so far.
On Malok's ascension, the temple went
through a crisis involving his son, Telanis Zrei. When all had
calmed, Stonal Jleske had announced that by the wishes of Cattar
and of Malok, Urtesir Linar was to be the Messenger of Cattar in
Catalania. Some of the deeds already attributed to him include
the expulsion of the evil temples from the city of Catalania, and
the declaration that all deities other than Cattar should be
recognized as saintly entities, and not separate deities. This
pronouncement brought much debate throughout the continent.
- Latlir Rashin. Feline High
Priest
Latlir Rashin is considered a very popular
and traditional figure in many cities throughout the continent.
He is a Feline of about 1.75m in height and looks as if he might
be seventy years old. His fur is brown and eyes dark. Latlir is
always in excellent physical shape, as he prefers to walk during
the entire day. When traveling he also prefers to walk, instead
of riding.
Brought up in a village just outside the
city of Catalania, Latlir came to know his home area very well.
But when told that there was nothing worth seeing other than the
city, he doubted and set off to see the world. Latlir lacks the
monastic training that most clerics of Cattar have, and received
all his training at the temple of Cattar in Catalania and in his
home village. The primary reason for this is that he has always
given great importance to visiting and helping as many cultures
and nations as he can. Latlir is said to know, and know well,
every major city on the continent.
Latlir Rashin attained his status of High
Priest by aiding the orders of Cattar, and the Messengers, in
many ways. During the past decades, he has founded nearly thirty
temples through his own efforts. He is different from most High
Priests in that he does not have his own, exclusive temple. He
has earned the right to act as High Priest at almost any location
where he has founded a temple.
Latlir is a master in the use of the mace,
and for some time helped train young clerics in the capital. He
has a fine sense of humor, is eloquent and sometimes is a fast
talker. Although he is very patient, he normally will not settle
in one location for more than a year.
- Sulantra. Feline High
Priestess
Sulantra is the responsible cleric for the
daily organization of the temple of Cattar in Catalania City. She
has been part of the order for most of her life, always assisting
the temple in the capitol of the Empire. Sulantra is about 1.60m
in height and has a mixed white and brown fur. Her eyes are brown
and she appears to be about 80 years in age.
During her many years as High Priest in
Catalania, she has proven to be an important assistant to the
order in maintaining influence within the Imperial government and
with the faithful. She has been through all the traditional
clerical instruction, including eight years on the eastern coast
at a monastery.
Sulantra is from Port Serval, where her
large family still operates a very traditional supply shop. She
started her temple career in Serval, where she assisted Messenger
Liagspren and local clerics to gain support from the local trade
guilds and build the current temple. Soon after the temple was
finished she traveled to Catalania and, with recommendations from
Liagspren, she was accepted and sent to the coastal temples.
Years of hard work have placed her in the position of High
Priest.
Sulantra always acts in the benefit of her
faith, and secondarily in the benefit of her order. If she truly
believes in any cause, she will (after contacting the Messenger
at the temple) do everything within her reach to further that
cause. Sulantra is competent and objective. She rarely engages in
small talk or light conversation, preferring to focus on issues
important to her.
- Roil Caius Damesi. Feline
Paladin of Cattar
Born in the temple of Cattar in Catalania
City, Roil Caius Damesi was a personal friend of Crat Darha about
2500 years ago. He was defeated during the final battle of the
Second Barbarian War, and placed to rest in a vault near the city
of Catalania. Some time ago, however, due to anomalies that many
cannot explain, he reappeared alive and well. The orders have
confirmed that he is who he states, and he currently serves the
temple in the capital as a personal protector of the Emperor.
Roil is 1.95m high, and has dark blue eyes.
His age appears to be under 50 years, and his fur is a shiny,
metallic silver - one of his most distinguishing features. Roil
has excellent physical form, and very clear muscular definition.
He is one of the Empires most skilled masters of the arts of war,
and is considered a flawless swordsman in the Kershmede and Blue
Sun styles.
Sir Damesi was born into a very traditional
Imperial family, and had one brother. During his youth, he was
given the finest fighting and chivalric training the Empire could
offer, and it was at this time that Roil first met the already
experienced Lord Ranthax Kershmede, Knight of the Empire, his
instructor.
Roil was much different from his brother,
Korial. Although Korial studied to a much lesser extent than
Roil, he used every moment of his time with great vitality. It
was in this aspect that the two brothers disagreed most. Roil was
conservative and defensive, and Korial took risks at every
opportunity. Furthermore, this was the main reason Roil and
Ranthax Kershmede never became better friends. Roil was extreme
in his cautious ways.
It is also true that Korial became somewhat
extreme in taking risks. Early in their careers as Imperial
militia officers, Roils brother showed a lack of concern for his
troops, and sometimes even for his own safety. But the two
brothers managed to maintain a strong relationship throughout the
years they served the Empire.
When the Second Barbarian War broke, the
two were field commanders eager to prove their worth. But the
seventeen year war tired all without exception. When the eighth
year came around, Roil had fought thirty battles and had been
defeated twice. His reputation as a competent and secure
commander reached the attention of the Emperor and, with the
recent demise of Ranthax Kershmede, Roil was given the position
of Lord High Commander of the Imperial Militia. This position
instantly bestowed him the title of Knight of the Empire. Many
were surprised by the Emperors decision. Lord Damesi hurried to
prove his ability to the nation, and his victories continued to
grow.
Meanwhile, Korial was a field commander
valiantly fighting the central barbarians in the southwest. He
was an example to his troops, and rejoiced at the Imperial
decision making Roil a Knight and absolute commander. The war
started to move towards final resolution in the north, and Roil
sent for Korial so that he could be part of the final
confrontation. During the beginning of the tenth year of the war,
Roil anticipated a major battle north of Yonmayer, and Korial,
already with his brother, assisted in the strategic planning. The
battle started during the first week of winter and the outcome
seemed predictably favorable, but a week later the barbarians
appeared from the west with new allies : clerics and Messengers
of Gondor, the same forces that had defeated Lord Ranthax
Kershmede. The fighting grew intense and even desperate, and when
Roil was forced to retreat to the capital, Korial Caius Damesi
took the single risk that guaranteed the safety of the Imperial
forces. Along with one hundred fearless cavalrymen, Korial held
an enormous mass of barbarians behind as the Imperial troops
disengaged from the battle. Sixty two of the cavalry returned to
the capital on the next month. Korial was not among them.
At the end of the tenth year of war Roil
had learned much from his brother. He seemed to be another person
to the people of Catalania city. When the news that the enemy was
but four days from the cities walls arrived, he laughed and told
the city it need not worry. His words are written and remembered
as a battle prayer: " Many heroes will perish and many
nations will fall, but the Empire of Catalania will live and
ascend forever."
The greatest battle ever to approach the
city of Catalania lasted seven hours, and when it had finished,
virtually all of the defeated enemy had been slaughtered, almost
half of the Imperial militia was either dead or seriously
wounded, and Roil Caius Damesi had perished.
When Roil recently returned to the capitol,
he stated that his mission before Cattar was still incomplete,
but that he did not know what he should specifically do. He took
a place as Paladin of Cattar and now leads a simple life in
Catalania. Roil is the chivalric ideal. Everyone who knows him
says he is very lighthearted and sometimes takes too many risks.
Roil values friendships and will help anyone who he believes is
good hearted.

The
Cattarian Brothers of Lione
- Jefur Dofit, High Priest
Jefur Dofit is the main Cattarian priest in
the city of Lione. He exercises partial control over the order,
since Telanis Zrei, a very influential figure, also lives and
preaches here. Jefur stands at 1.70m and has brown hair. His eyes
are dark, and he appears to be about fifty years old.
Twenty years ago Jefur was a cleric serving
the villages around Lione. The Messenger Stonal Jleske had heard
of his work and summoned him to the temple in the city. After
they spoke for an hour, Stonal decided that Jefur would stay in
the temple and assist the current High Priest in his duties.
Against his own will, Jefur remained in the city and placed his
former work second. During the many years in Lione, Stonal
prepared Jefur for a place as High Priest, and a year before
Stonals ascension, the position was granted to him.
Jefur is systematic when handling religious
affairs. He is intractable and will even seem political at times.
He learned much theory from Stonal, but learned very little about
relating with local authorities and other orders. Jefur does,
however, respect all those above his rank within his faith. The
High Priest of Lione is considered stubborn and many within his
own order stay out of his way. Jefur is nevertheless competent in
his daily activities.
- Ronean, Feline Priest
When the people of Lione seek the spiritual
aid a Cattarian priest has to offer, they normally seek Ronean.
Not only is Ronean always available for any matter, he also cares
about the people of the city and does everything he can to
protect them. He is slender for his 1.80m in height. His hazel
eyes blend well with his neutral brown fur. Ronean has excellent
posture, and radiates confidence and respect.
- Pagrieni, Priestess
Pagrieni is recognized as one of the most
hard working members of the order. With short black hair and
black eyes, she is very charismatic towards the population of
Lione and other surrounding towns. Pagrieni does not hold an
important rank in her order, but she is cherished by the people
because of her continued attention and care towards them.
The priestess is about 1.65m high and is
twenty seven years old. She is an example to the clerics of her
order, and some have become envious of her many virtues.
- Telanis Zrei. Feline Lord
High Paladin of Cattar
Telanis Zrei is the son of Malok Zrei,
former High Messenger of Cattar. He was born in the City of
Catalania when his father was an elder at the High Temple. His
mother is Defigia of Orgoss, once wife of Malok, who died in the
distant past.
Telanis received his monastic teachings
from Stonal Jleske, and learned to be paladin through many years
of service to the temples. His age appears to be about sixty, and
he is tall and physically powerful. His eyes are blue, like his
fathers were. Telanis wears a serious expression when about his
duties.
Most clerics of Cattar know Telanis for his
iron will and unbending faith. He is much more an example of
total devotion and unquestioning faith than a chivalric
archetype. His family name has always given him the greatest
respect within the temples. In Lione, Telanis is clearly as
influential as any authority in the order.
Telanis does not tolerate evil in any form
without exception. He has been known to sacrifice, without
warning, a simple merchant that had evil intentions. It is said
that he will "feel" the evil he despises and, if it
seems to be a fundamental aspect of the individual, he will
destroy it. His behavior clearly frightens most people, since he
shows no signs of trying to seek evil in people. Bystanders
sometimes see Telanis suddenly slay a common person who, they
believe, could have been them. Telanis has various devout
followers within this order, but his actions do not reflect the
popular principles of Cattar.
Lione is one of the only locations that
tries to accept his acts. Since Telanis does not believe in
bowing before anything but Cattar and the Messengers, he rarely
leaves Lione. He does, however, support the Empire of Catalania.
When Malok left the Prime Material Plane,
his position suddenly became vacant. Before the temples could
choose a successor to Malok, Telanis took his place in the
capital of the Empire as High Messenger. For a few months he
struggled to build a new order of Cattar, stronger than ever
before. His various problems with the Emperor brought him to use
the power he had conquered to remove the entire high temple from
the capital. He eventually joined forces with the Empire again,
but was forced by all the other orders of Cattar to yield his
position to the rightful Messenger, Urtesir Linar. The other
Messengers at the time, Liagspren and Stonal returned the temple
to its place in Catalania.
After this he settled in his current home
and received the esteemed title of Lord High Paladin.

The
Southern Column of Faith Sect
- Seprag Hagruz, High Priest
Seprag is the main Cattarian authority on
the south of the continent. He is very young at about twenty six
years old, and has brown hair and dark eyes.
Seprag is Liagsprens primary student and
successor. He has always followed Liagsprens every piece of
advice, and now oversees the temple in Port Serval. He is a
humorous individual, and is liked by most all adventurers for his
support and cheerful attitudes. Clerics admire him, although some
older ones find his humor foolish.
- Yalsir Ordibel, Priest
Yalsir is an Elder monk from the northern
reaches of the Union of Serval. He rarely visits Port Serval, but
still fully obeys Seprag. Yalsir is tall and is about forty in
age. He has long brown hair and hazel eyes. Yalsir travels
throughout he southern lands with a single purpose : spread the
goodness of Cattar to every village he can reach.
This cleric is serious and experienced, and
has met such people as Malok, Urtesir, and Liagspren. Yalsir is
known as a truly mature and persistent cleric to many individuals
and many orders.
- Tradom Satserim. Feline
Priest
This priest is a religious envoy to the
Union of Serval. He is considered a clerical " diplomat
" and is always in the palace of the Guild master of the
Union, Karmoth Quintar. Tradom not only represents the Southern
Column of Faith sect, but also the Holy Superior Order in the
Unions capital. The clerics in Port Serval often say Tradom is
the link between the Union, the Empire, and Cattar. This is not
entirely true, however, because Seprag Hagruz is also very active
within the Unions politics.

The
Brotherhood of Light
- Camenius Sirgenast. Feline
Messenger
Camenius Sirgenast was one of Malok Zrei's
good friends, and when he was still very young, met Crat Darha.
He had met Urtesir many times in the capital and at the time they
became good friends. Camenius appears to be about 120 years old
and is about 1.75m tall. His fur is gray and white and his eyes
black.
Camenius is from the same monastery where
Malok studied. He spent most of his life in secluded thought, a
preparation for the great responsibility he believed he would one
day possess. He is certainly one of the wisest Cattarian priests,
and is known to deliberate for long periods of time about common
subjects.
This Messenger also has another, more
active side. For his age, Camenius boasts vitality. He will
suddenly set out on some adventurous deed even if it requires
great physical youth to fulfill. The people that know Camenius
find that he believes a good hearted adventurer, who has faith in
Cattar, will do more to strengthen the temples than a dozen
clerics. He only enjoys the company of a few clerics who are his
better friends.
Camenius Sirgenast was born in Cellesse.
His family had a farm, and he learned much from his parents. He
went to the orders of Cattar simply to bring some prestige to his
mother and father. Soon he began to learn about Cattars
teachings, and realized that he had mistakenly chosen his true
path in life. He never stopped learning, always traveling to
another temple or monastery to see unique books and places. He
never became interested in other priests.
Camenius' first true friend was Malok. They
shared many opinions and soon they went to the city of Catalania
to serve the orders. Malok became a High Messenger, and Camenius
preferred to remain a patriarch. When Malok left the Prime,
Camenius left the capital.
Camenius returned to Catalania years after
Malok had left. He met Urtesir, who had foreseen his coming, and
received his title.
This Messenger is shrewd and eloquent, but
some find him too outspoken. He is always watching for a
situation that would need his advice and assistance. On many
occasions, this has allowed him to uncover matters that some may
have kept from him.
- Dacrinor Mir Panys. High Elf
Messenger
Dacrinor is from Myasicar Port, having been
found as an infant among slain desert nomads after a viscous
battle. He was brought up in the Temple of Cattar in that city,
always helping the clerics and learning from them. He decided to
join the orders when he was still very young. Dacrinor has
incredible faith in Cattar, and some say that very few have ever
truly believed in every Cattarian principle the way he does.
Dacrinor Mir Panys is about 1.65 tall and
has the same jovial appearance as most adult elves. His hair is
black and eyes green. Through many years of persistent search,
and with the guidance of Cattar, he found his family and
discovered his family name, Mir Panys.
During his years of service in Myasicar
Port, Dacrinor learned to be a cleric from many wise Elders. But
soon the youth went through a very sorrowful experience, common
to all elves who ever befriend other races. He watched as his
mentors and friends aged and died. Dacrinor did not notice any
aging within himself, and for many years, this cleric that had
been known for his joyous love of Cattar and the people of the
continent went into seclusion. His state regressed to depression,
and his misery grieved the people of Myasicar. In his small room
below the temple, he was finally visited by a Messenger from
Lione, Stonal Jleske.
After the two talked, Dacrinor saw that
many beings, elves and other races alike, had been through this
sadness. Stonal told the elf of the many friends he had lost, but
of the invaluable experiences he was blessed with by being able
to live for longer than others, and they spoke for many hours.
The two discovered they were very alike, and Stonal convinced
Dacrinor to continue his work, and told him he, Dacrinor, would
one day take his place as a Messenger.
For many years after that day, Dacrinor
worked for the temples in the northern reaches of the continent.
His work soon took him to the city of Catalania, Lione, Port
Serval, and Jaquari. Malok Zrei recognized his true valor on many
occasions, and he was given the title of High Priest. He visited
Stonal from time to time, and when the lizard man had ascended,
he remained in prayer for two days.
As Stonal had once told him, he was
summoned to the city of Catalania to take a place as Messenger of
Cattar. But as he traveled to the capital of the Empire, he
discovered that he had inherited something more from Stonal. He
had acquired the saintly ability to speak with the heavens, to
hear the voice of Cattar: something that some say only Stonal had
ever earned. Humbled with this greatest of gifts, he remained at
a small village temple for weeks, then traveling to Catalania and
becoming a Messenger.
Dacrinor is extremely humble. He only
becomes aggressive if confronted by truly evil beings. Most
people who meet him for the first time do not suspect he is an
important priest. But it is his simple ways that make him the
wise elf that he is. He is always available to help any friends
he has, and, like the other Messengers, does not spare any effort
in doing so.

Cartack
The sects of Cartack exist in harmony with
each other, and it is recognized that the Dwarven priests are
more adept at practicing the work of Cartack, forging. It is
known, however, that the temples of the Snarian Sect are more
capable and persistent in spreading the word of the deity
Cartack.
|
The
Kar Koroeth Sect
-Kazkaran Metalforger, Dwarf
High Priest
Kazkaran is the most important authority in
the temples of Cartack. He is the brother of Tharl Metalforger,
King of Kar Koroeth. Kazkaran has many difficulties in
maintaining his faith, as most dwarves pray to Dwarven gods.
The High Priest is 1.75m tall, has bark
hair and eyes, and appears to be middle aged. He is quiet and
reserved, but will speak on behalf of his faith without limits.
Kazkaran was born in the Dwarven city of Daradon, like his
brother. He carries the artifact of Cartack known as Forenlor, a
great battle ax.
- Darogar Tagron, Dwarf Priest
Darogar is a humble priest of Cartack . He
is a Novice and is still in training, placed as a sentinel in the
northern Blue Sun Mountains. He will occasionally set out to
explore the surface world, and is constantly in the temple of
Cartack with the other clerics.
Darogar is strong and young, and has a long
beard and very long hair. He carries the war hammer that his
family has passed on for generations, the Gubar. Darogar is
talkative, and sometimes can be naive.
|
The
Snarian Sect
-Hifilimus Satleyev, High
Priest
Hifilimus is the main priest of Cartack in
Jaguari. He is feared by those who do not know him personally due
to his austere approach to the already harsh Militocracy policy.
He is very strict and is respected by Snarian authorities,
including the temples of Bolthan.
Hifilimus Satleyev is about 1.80 high and
wears a brown beard. His hear is brown also, and his eyes are
black. He has a deep voice and enjoys watching mock combat.
-Ikarin Burgov, Priest
Ikarin is a young cleric in training at the
temple of Cartack in Hasthrass. He comes from a humble family
that lives outside the cities walls, and has deposited all his
hopes for a better and more complete life in Cartack. Ikarin is
about twenty and is physically strong. His hair is blond and his
eyes blue.
Ikarin is impatient and sometimes does not
understand the lessons taught at the temple. But as time passes,
he feels the ever growing responsibility that his position may
someday come to have. Ikarin is dedicated and persistent, a good
friend to those who know him better, and good humored.
-Nigof Fortin, Priest
Nigof is from a traditional family of
generals in the Militocracy. Although he was raised to either be
part of the militia of Jaguari or join the orders of Bolthan,
Nigof was compelled to join the temple of Cartack for reasons
even he does not understand. He simply gave up his life with his
family and took up life in a temple in Jaguari under Hifilimus,
who told him that, for some divine reason, Nigof was sure to be a
great cleric in the service of Cartack.
Nigof Fortin is slender at 1.80m high, has
dark brown hair and black eyes. He is quiet and enjoys the
company of older clerics. Nigof is considered to be a
exceptionally competent cleric for his current position and age.

Rorren
Rorrens clerics are magistrates in many
cities of the south, and even in some places of the Empire. There
are two main orders of Rorren, the Order of Justice, known for
its reliance in serene clerics, and the Order of Truth, composed
of rigid and spirited clerics. The two orders are under the
control of Bronlac the Just, the respected, even-tempered
Messenger.
The Order of Justice's High Temple is in
Felineo, and the Order of Truth's is a days travel south of Puma
de Clin.
|
The
Order of Justice
-Bronlac the Just, Messenger
Bronlac is one of the oldest members of the
Order of Justice, and holds the highest position among the
clerics of Rorren. He appears to be about sixty five years old,
and is 1.80m high. His hair is gray and eyes dark.
Bronlac spends most of his time giving
counsel to clerics and governors about just judgment. He is
respected for his dedication by most faiths, and holds his
position because of his great competence.
Bronlac the Just does not aid his major
allies in any practical, material ways, although he often gives
them good advice.
-Tormad Calgerton, Priest
Of all the priests of Rorren in Felineo,
Tormad Calgerton is certainly the most uncommon. One of the
greatest virtues of a priest of Rorren is seriousness. Tormad is
anything but sober, preferring to spend his spare time in taverns
or in game houses.
Still in training at the High Temple of the
Order of Justice, many say he will never become a true cleric.
His hair is brown and his eyes are dark.
|
The
Order of Truth
-Irinar of Truth, High Priest
Irinar of Truth is the main authority
within the Order of Truth, and in all the orders second only to
Bronlac. He is about 1.75m high, and appears to be around fifty
in age. His hair is dark and eyes hazel.
Irinar is mainly a source of counsel for
the community of Puma de Clin. He has always defended the miners
there, and is considered a friend of all those in the mining
areas. The local guard also has befriended this High Priest,
since it is known that his word can be considered law by any sane
being. Irinar is reserved, and like most clerics of Rorren, will
not pass judgment unless asked to.
-Roolwil Hylk, Feline Priest
In recent times, the Order of Truth has
seen many austere clerics within its ranks. One good example of
this stern position within the priesthood is Roolwil Hylk, born
in Port Bengal and apparently around fifty years old. He has dark
brown fur and dark green eyes, and is healthy and strong.
Roolwil will stand by his judgment at all
costs, and will oversee most of the sentences he passes. He
demands respects towards his position when he is acting as a
magistrate, and will punish any person, regardless of position or
circumstance, that lacks this respect. He speaks loudly, and
rarely goes unnoticed. Roolwil, however, is not very severe when
not conducting his duties, although his personality is constantly
resolute.

Simiah
The temples of Simiah are among the most
popular on the continent. In Lione, the High Temple of Simiah is
just as popular as the temple of the Cattarian Brothers. The
Orders of this deity have recently been encouraging the
populations of various cities to attend the temples of Simiah on
a regular basis, and their large scale efforts will certainly
yield great results soon.
Lione is considered as the city of Simiah,
although Cattar is just as popular here. Nevertheless, the god of
dreams is loved in most cities, and the goodhearted, tolerant
clerics of these orders are frequently accepted and supported
even where their faith has not yet become popular.
-Artran Aralinur, Gray Elf High
Messenger
The story of Artran Aralinur is a long one.
He was born in the small village of Daneen, one of the many that
make up the Frashil villages in the Calliak Forest. Artran
Aralinur appears to be quite old, a very rare circumstance for
any Elf.
Artran is about 1.45m high and has long
white hair and violet-blue eyes. He appears to be weak, and
usually carries a staff to aid him in his constant walks. Artran
went to the northern Elven kingdom in Whisperwoods when he was
young. Impatient for an Elf, he wanted to see the world and live
great adventures. In the city of Verquinian, he made friends with
another young elf named Hawking while studying magic. The two
spent nearly seventy years together, and walked the continent
seeing great wonders.
But it is said that the two finally
quarreled over delicate matters. Hawking was much more aligned
with the Elven philosophies, and could not accept most races as
equals. Artran, however, had made many non-Elven friends, and he
even admired some of them. Enraged, Hawking returned to
Verquinian and left Artran behind.
As time passed, Artran matured and slowed
his travels. In magic, he had become powerful, especially when
dealing with other planes. It is said that on one extra planar
travel, he first met Simiah.
Many cannot believe that he actually met
the deity, but as the account goes, Simiah gave Artran a vision
of absolute harmony and told him what he must do to achieve this
for the plane of Three Suns. Humbled, Artran joined the orders of
Simiah and embraced his teachings. After fifty years he was given
the title of High Messenger, and for much time brought peace to
the north. He has always aided his allies, offering them anything
within his reach to bring them safety and happiness.
Artran, however, has always dabbled in
magic. Many years ago, he was possessed by a being from Gehenna,
and brought havoc to many places in the north. He was defeated by
the adventurers that had aided him on many occasions, and
disappeared.
During the time he was gone, some say he
paid the price for his imprudence. He was allowed to return
recently, when the former High Messenger, Wolwacz, stepped down.
Wolwacz, who some say is not from Three Suns, had made the orders
very popular, promoting great events in the name of Simiah.
Now back in Lione, Artran is in peace with
himself. He can be found in the High Temple or in the streets of
this city, and the population of Vaelar has welcomed him with
affection.
-Raska Nalnur, Priest
Raska Nalnur is a very popular cleric in
the city of Catalania. Originally from Lione, he has earned his
place as an Elder at the temple in the Empires Capitol. In Lione,
he is also very popular.
Raska is about thirty years old, has light
brown hair, and dark eyes. He is thin, and has a scar below his
right eye, caused by an accident at a joust in Lione.
Raska is gentle and has a soft voice. He is
always quoting the teachings of Simiah, and those who spend time
with him notice that he has most of the existent teachings in his
mind and heart.
-Ursac, Feline Priest
Ursac is from a very religious family,
respected by many orders. In Lione, he aids all priests and has
recently been recognized as a Patriarch. Ursac is knowledgeable
in all areas of study, including the many religions of other
deities. A great mountain near Lione has his name, a name which
was decided for him well before he was born. This mountain was on
the land of this family for much time, but now belongs to Lione.
Ursac has dark and light brown mixed fur.
He is about 1.70 m high, and appears to be about sixty years old.
His eyes are black.

The
Knights of Simiah
Created by the former High Messenger,
Wolwacz, the Knights of Simiah are constantly growing in number,
and have swords and armor that is particularly made for them.
Their colors are blue and red.
-Wolfkad, High Elf Paladin of
Simiah
Wolfkad is a true defender of the faith,
serving the clerics of Simiah and maintaining unblemished conduct
. He sits on the Counsel of the Order, and is a master in the
Imperial swordstyle.
Wolfkad stands at 1.70m and has dark hair
and green eyes. His attire is always graceful, and Wolfkad is
eloquent and respectful to those he honors and has vowed to
defend.
-Skink, Halfling Paladin of
Simiah
The most good humored Knight of Simiah is
Skink, a Halfling originally from Jaguari. He is certainly much
older than he appears to be, for it is said that he was a
companion of Karlin D'Narkan when the latter was still an Avenger
of Gondor.
Skink met Karlin about a hundred years
before the Oblivion. Karlin, who had been a paladin of Cattar,
had just given in to the calling of Ansgar Draco, and joined the
orders of Gondor. Skink, a follower of Simiahs teachings, tried
to help his new friend to return to his former good principles.
With the added help of a sorceress called Fevigia, he convinced
Karlin to fight the Messenger of Gondor, Ansgar, and return to
Catalania. The threesome traveled to the High Temple of Gondor
and a great battle began. After a desperate struggle, Ansgar
Draco was victorious. The three had been defeated.
But it seems they had not died. Perhaps it
was the will of various good deities that they return in the
future to continue to battle evil and bring an end to the Draco
lineage.
Since his return, Skink has settled in
Lione. He is an excellent swordmaster in the Tirelian style, but
is not a sufficiently moral example of a paladin. Skink has a
great love of excessive meals, raillery, and parading his
position to the people of Lione. Skink is, in truth, an exemplary
adventurer.

Torla
The Orders of Torla are almost as popular
as those of Simiah. These orders are much more common in many
cities, however, although the sizes of their temples are normally
small. The Sisterhood of Purity is located in Port Serval, and is
composed exclusively of females. The Sect of Protected Life is
located in Puma de Clin, and educates many clerics that
eventually set out to build small temples all over the south. The
Sect of Pure Shining is located in Pallassi and is the most
traditional of orders.
Clerics of Torla are among the most
temperate of all faiths. They abhor violence and will do
everything they can to promote health among all people.

The
Sisterhood of Purity
-Alhana Northbreeze, High
Messenger
Alhana Northbreeze was born in Toufor, a
coastal city near Lione that is entrusted to the Rothogarians.
Her family was not of Rothogarian decent, however, but served the
families as blacksmiths. Since the nature of the local community
was of abundant wealth, the Northbreeze family lived in a two
story stone mansion and owned an astounding shop.
When she was but twelve, a corrupt mayor in
Toufor declared that Alhana was to be his wife. The Northbreeze
family could not bear the pronouncement and sent young Alhana
away to Lione.
Upon arrival, Alhana went to the temple of
Cattar, met Stonal Jleske, and the two soon became friends. It
was the Messenger of Cattar that looked after Alhana during two
years in Lione, for the Mayor of Toufor had sent a group of
mercenaries to retrieve her.
Although the friendship between Stonal and
Alhana was a strong one, the girl had left Toufor in search for a
reason in life. Things were too easy in her homeland because
money and wealth were everywhere. She wanted to help others and
make a difference with her own acts.
That is why Alhana Northbreeze left Lione,
on her own, and traveled to Catalania. There she met many heroes
and clerics, and finally the temple of Torla. At the time it was
a small one, like most temples of Torla were. Alhana soon entered
the Sisterhood of Purity and spent many years studying the
Principles of Life. She chose to stay in Catalania and became a
personal friend of Malok Zrei. The Empire soon noticed the
charismatic young priestess and she met Emperor Yesthen. She
became High Priestess when she was 22 years old, returned to
Toufor, and prompted the mayor to step down. She then forgave him
for his past misdeeds.
A short time later, Alhana was given the
first title of Messenger within the faith of Torla. She left
Catalania, and relocated the entire Sisterhood to Port Serval,
where she would be able to command the faith without any
political influences.
Alhana is about 1.80m high and appears to
be about thirty five years old. Her hair is dark and her
captivating eyes are light blue. Alhana is graceful and
attractive, but has taken the vote of chastity. Her influence is
great, being the one greatest authority within the orders of
Torla. Alhana is almost as active as most adventurers, traveling
to many cities in search of ways to bring more followers to
Torla.
-Elliseni, Priestess
Elliseni is a young priestess from Port
Serval. She is 1.65 tall and is about 18 years old. Her eyes are
dark and her hair dark brown. She has traveled throughout the
north, and is currently coordinating the construction of a temple
in Hasthrass. She hopes to establish a new order of Torla,
dedicated to the poor and to children.
-Taya Davera, Feline Priestess
Taya Davera is an older priestess in
Serval, having served Torla for about fifty years. She has always
aided the temples to maintain organization, and this is her only
ambition. She feels that the orders can never give into chaos of
any type.
Taya is extremely faithful, and is familiar
with almost all knowledge pertinent to Torla. Her fur is dark and
her eyes hazel. Taya stands at about 1.50m.
The
Sect of Protected Life
-Karthan, High Priest
Karthan has been the High Priest at Puma de
Clin for half a century, and is known to be a precious follower
of Torla. He is about 1.60 high and appears to be about 80 years
old. His hair and full beard are gray-brown.
-Renasil, Priest
Renasil is a young mage of the Sect of
Protected Life. He spends his days learning as much as possible
about Torla and her principles, but sometimes grows restless and
sets out on short expeditions to Brandon, Pallassi and Felineo.
He is about 20 years old and has dark hair and eyes.
-Medria, Feline Priestess
Medria is a friend of Renasil, always
traveling with him. She is very faithful, and is always carrying
the Principles with her in the form of a small book with tiny
writing.
Medria is 1.65 tall, and is about 25 years
old. Her fur is gray.

The
Sect of Pure Shining
-Kerenia, Messenger
When Kerenia was still very young, her poor
family left her at a local temple of Parda in Cellesse. The
clerics there treated the girl well, offering her various options
of work so that, when she was older, she would be able to survive
on her own. But Kerenia chose to take up the Principles of Torla,
at another local temple, who she considered a humble goddess -
unlike the teachings Parda that she considered too grand and
elevated.
After some time, the young priestess became
well known for her courage within the orders of Torla, and began
to have ideas of moving to the Sect of Pure Shining in Pallassi.
Many people believed she was mad, for the traditional orders in
Pallassi were severe in the ways they followed the Principles,
and were mostly men. But she had heard of corruption within the
temple in Pallassi, nothing outrageous for any order in the City
of Assassins.
Kerenia traveled to Pallassi and took up
her teaching there. After many months in the oppressive city,
Kerenia discovered a haven for wanted criminals within the
temple. Many thieves were holding stolen goods in these rooms.
Kerenia immediately went to the
authorities, the city guard. The guard arrested many thieves, but
soon it was known to the many guilds in the city that Kerenia had
arraigned many of their members. She was attacked many times on
the first night after the temple had been cleared, and on each
survived by mere luck. These attacks were so violent that she was
forced to go into hiding. Many clerics in the temple supported
Kerenia, but it wasknown that there were corrupt clerics also.
In four days, Karthan from Puma de Clin had
arrived, and began to seek Kerenia. After they met, he
accompanied her to the temple and helped drive each corrupt
cleric out of Pallassi. A rogue that knew Karthan agreed to help
Kerenia stay at the temple. Lomer, the rogues name, defended her
for many weeks. Five years later, it was proclaimed by the High
Messenger Alhana Northbreeze that Kerenia was to immediately be
made High Priest in Pallassi. She took this place and has
maintained it for the past three years.
Kerenia has recently been chosen by a
counsel of Patriarchs - Karthan among them - and Alhana to be a
Messenger. This is due to her continued hunting of criminals,
even endangering herself, in defense of the people of Pallassi,
who are plagued by many thieves guilds and assassins rings.
Kerenia is 1.75m tall and has light brown
hair. Her eyes are hazel and she appears to be slightly over
thirty.
-Danuked Arisi, Feline Priest
Danuked is a friend of the people of
Pallassi. He has always helped families in the need of charity,
and is always cheerful. Danuked Arisi is a wine master, and
oversees the production of wine at the temple. He is about 70
years old and has dark brown fur.
-Wunak, Wood Elf Priest
Wunak is a young cleric that came from
Cellesse to study in the temple of Kerenia. He was born in the
northern Snar mountains, and brought to the south when still a
child. Wunak spends as much of his time as he can trying to come
in contact with the Messenger, but so far has been very occupied
in study. Wunak detests violence even more than the average
cleric of Torla.

Parda
The Orders of Parda are certainly the most
tolerant of all. The temples of Rorren are often irritated at the
actions the clerics of Parda take, because they offer absolution
to any person who seeks them. Very few understand the nature of
these temples, and so very few consider Parda to truly be the
goddess of wisdom.
Clerics of Parda will always commune with
the spirits to find a path to exoneration for those who seek
their Goddess. They try to teach those who have erred through
tasks that will absolve them.
-Devanora Summersigh, Messenger
Devanora Summersigh is from the northern
city of Orgoss, although very few people know much about her
childhood. It is known, however, that she came to Lione after she
was twenty years old, and that, as an intelligent and wise cleric
of Parda, soon became respected within her orders. She became a
friend of many authorities of the temples in Lione. For much
time, she became a close friend of the former High Messenger of
Simiah, Wolwacz.
Devanora was given her title after many
journeys and endeavors in the name of Parda. At heart, she is an
adventurer, and even as a Messenger she travels often.
Devanora Summersigh has red hair and is

The Orders of Bolthan are found in Lione
and in Jaguari, although small temples exist in some other
cities. The Order of Glorious Battle is from Lione, and is
considered the main order of Bolthan. The Order of Stone has
great influence in the Militocracy of the Snar, and is located in
Jaguari. Both orders maintain infrequent contact.
|
The
Order of Glorious Battle
-Cursan Odalubaron, Messenger
Cursan is about 1.85 tall and appears to be
about 50 years old. He has brown hair and a brown beard, and has
dark eyes. Cursan is respected as a warrior as much as he is as a
cleric. His strong form and posture reflect this.
Cursan Odalubaron was born in Jaguari, and
underwent he basic clerical teachings there. Not being able to
get along with the High Priests in Jaguari, he took some good
friends with him to Lione and founded the first temple of Bolthan
in that city. Lione being a major city on the continent, Cursan
watched his order grow to great proportion and always kept strong
ties with local rulers.
Because of his continued support to many
just nations, Cursan was chosen as Messenger by divine prophecy,
and has ever since maintained a severe command over his order.
Cursan Odalubaron has true passion for

towards battle. He does not have many strong allies outside his
order, and within his order his strongest allies are his
paladins.

Justin Blazonshield was born in Port Serval
and was sent to Lione when he was still young. When he arrived in
the great city he ingressed in the Academy of Lione and studied

taken into the orders by Cursan himself, and given his complete
training at the Academy, specializing in the Palidrian
swordstyle.
Justin has a brother in Serval, and he has
been courting a sorceress in Catalania city called Sadria. He
loves to travel and offers his services to many good temples and
to the Empire. Justin Blazonshield is normally in a good mood and

brown hair, and has formidable strength. He has blue eyes and is

and Justin considers battle a sacred act that he loves above all
else. He is always a supporter of Good, and is allied to other
great warriors in the north.
-Berest Winterspark, Paladin

does not value the lives of those he does not honor. He considers
cowardice and lying to be reason for execution. Berest is quiet
and calculating.
Born in Hasthrass, Berest was trained at
the War School of Jaguari. He is dedicated to the use of the
sword in the Kershmede style, but is also good in influencing
local rulers. Within the Order of Glorious Battle, he is an
organizer, always worried with the possibility of treason and
inapt clerics.
Berest has little use for mercy, and is
sometimes questioned as to his integrity as a Paladin. He has no
doubts as to that.
Berest is 1.90m tall, has black hair and
green eyes. He rarely smiles.

The
Order of Stone
-Bantle Rast, Feline High
Priest
