Kar Koroeth is the largest Dwarven kingdom on the Continent of Catalania. The founding of their nation dates far before the Empire's, and the Dwarves have persevered to preserve their mountain kingdom. Their faith is monotheistic, as they follow Noragur. A few dwarves pray to Cartack, the Catalanian deity, since the High Messenger of this faith is a dwarf. Five clans, including the King's clan, control the Dwarven Council. These individuals are bound by the Bokragur, an oath of loyalty and honor. The Bokragur is actually a mark (on the right hand) worn by those who are on, or who have been on the council. The Dwarves of Kar Koroeth are skillful warriors and protect their borders fiercely. They are allies of the Empire, trading their craft and metalwork for the varied goods carried by visiting caravans. Most of their merchant activity occurs in the nearby Elven city of Hurkin. Although they are not particularly fond of the people of this town, their proximity to them has led to a remarkable degree of tolerance. Tomb of Fanergar / The legendary King of Dwarves, Fanergar, is said to be buried within the Darken Chasm. Few Dwarves have ever traveled to the bottom of this chasm, but those who have report seeing the petrified form of a great Dwarven warrior. Kings Mark Tavern / Near the surface of the mountians is the Kings Mark Tavern. Open not only to Dwarves, this tavern is said to have the best Bourat and Cothurag in Kar Koroeth. It is clearly marked at a torch-lit cavernous entrance. |
