Manxx

Lying in one of the outermost southwestern valleys of the Blue Sun Mountains, the County of Manxx is cradled between mountains in the north and east and great, rolling hills of farmlands in the west. Further west lies the great Calliak forest. To the south, the border of the County of Manxx is the Nicnaso River, named after the legendary Grand Druid who called that part of the Empire his home.

Manxx is often associated with the Argion Clan. This association is correct, for the Argions moved to Manxx as immigrants from Rastock long ago, around A.L. 30. Still today, their palace towers over all other buildings in Manxx out of the center of the growing town. Second to the Argion palace is the main spire of the temple of Grork, patron deity of the Argions and of Manxx.

The current count of Manxx is Sir Bohfrey, married to Eredna, a former Argion herself. With the Argion line now discontinued, all posessions have been transferred to the Bohfrey estate. If any Argions still exist, they haven't made their existence public. Currently considered missing are the following Argions: Nejwha and Caitlin, brother and sister and second cousins of Olcron Argion, patron of the clan.

What many adventurers remember Manxx by, however, are the red clay roads which have their main exits in the north (the road which leads to the Capital), the west (the rarely travelled and dangerous road through the Calliak Forest and Gollrock-infested territory) and south (which leads to Leonce and Destone). This red clay, which is what the earth north of Manxx all the way to the mountains is made of, is very hard and as opposed to most types of red clay doesn't turn to mud in rains. Still, the council of Manxx is considering paving the roads, as they believe the roads give Manxx an "outpost flair", which they don't want.

Even more famed than the red clay roads are the wines of Manxx and, of course, the Red Dragon Inn, which Regar Damalas has been calling his home for years now. The Inn, in the northeast of Manxx is so famous, that many adventurers come from far away and head for the Inn for a good glass of wine and information.
