Northeast of Pallassi is the mining town of Puma de Clin. The population of this settlement is made up of contracted workers, and living conditions have been known to be poor.

Still, the traditions of Puma de Clin are strong, and have been kept for centuries. It is common for families to tell stories of their ancestors around outdoor fires, and they serve a simple dish, called Pickled Onions, during the long winters.
