masters of his choice. When he was just seventeen, he had already
snatched the title of Count of South Barga and was beginning to aspire
for high nobility.
Ricard took part in the
Second Barbarian War and was successful in saving many counties in the
Barony of Fenning. For his efforts, at wars end he was named Baron of
Fenning. He was given the Fortress of Lob, also known as the Fortress of
the Rose, as his home.
It was at this time that
Ricard fell deeply in love with a farmers daughter in the nearby town of
Kirsch. He began to court the girl, but found she had been promised to
another man, a commoner. He did everything within his reach to have the
girl, but the town closed its doors to him and hid his love away.
Desperate, for the town
prepared to marry the farmers daughter and the commoner, he wept and
prayed to the dark and evil forces of Gondor. During a terrible storm on
this same night, an angel of darkness appeared in his house, and dragged
the young Baron into the depths of hell.
But he had prayed for help
from Gondor, he received this help in the form of damnation. Ricard was
transformed into a noble undead, not dead nor living, but cursed to be
living in the form of his dead body. On that same night, he returned
from the darkness, and, with the wings of a bat, flew into Kirsch. His
rage, coupled with the raw power he now possessed, were beyond the
comprehension of the people of Kirsch. By nights end, he had slaughtered
a generation of the towns population. And he had taken his wife-to-be
back to the Fortress of Lob.
Ricard struggled to convince
the girl of the sacrifice he had made for her, and with the first rays
of morning sunlight, he was forced to retreat into the catacombs of his
home.
When he returned at days
end, he found that his love had ended her own life, piercing her own
heart with a dagger. And so began the reign of Ricard Falstaff.
The Fortress of Lob was
never reoccupied, and many believe it is haunted. Ricard spent nearly a
millennium in deep sleep, completely missing the Oblivion. This
hibernation was the result of a battle he lost against the Messi and
Ranthax Kershmede. He was placed in a room with a powerful light
emanating immortal goodness.
One of his " Children "
eventually tricked a powerful group of good adventurers into freeing
him, and Ricard has been back for one decade.

establishing himself as a military councilor to the King of Freemen,
Matenval Dask, and soon had become one of the nations most important
figures.
During the First Freemen
War, Benitgal was responsible for a great part of the militia. But when
King Dask died and Freemen fell, he fled with his most loyal troops, and
